Oasis Inclusion Project Playworker (Casual)

We are looking for fun, active, exciting, enthusiastic, motivated, creative problem solvers with experience of working with disabled children, young people and their families.

Oasis Play is recruiting new Inclusive playworkers to join our expanding Inclusion team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a well-established and respected local charity to help improve the wellbeing and life chances of disabled children and young people aged 6-16 from across South London.

Oasis runs four main projects: a Nature Garden, Karting Project, an Inclusion Project and an Adventure Playground. Each of the projects provides unique opportunities for children and young people to play, learn new skills and knowledge and to develop confidence and self-esteem.

Suitable candidates will have experience of working with disabled and non-disabled children and young people in a play environment and an ability to engage children of all ages and abilities in a range of play opportunities.

This role is on a casual basis with shifts available on weekly Saturday clubs and School holiday playschemes. We require staff that are committed, reliable and available for regular work in school term time and school holiday periods.

This is a fun and varied role working with a variety of children and young people from Stockwell and surrounding areas.

The role is focussed on play opportunities for disabled children and young people with an emphasis on fun and social inclusion.

National Lockdown UPDATE

During lockdown we will be delivering a limited range of services across our three sites.
(Oasis Nature garden, Oasis Adventure Playground and Oasis Karting Project)

All services are permissible under the guidelines issued by Public Health England.

We will be delivering:

  • Respite play sessions for disabled children and young people
  • Support and activity sessions for vulnerable young people
  • Support and activity sessions for vulnerable children and those requiring childcare
  • Support and educational sessions for parents with children under 5 years old
  • Educational activities for school and groups

All sessions are pre-booked and accommodate a very limited and targeted group of children, young people and families.
